The Nova Modeling Platform: Collaboration at Many Levels
Richard Salter and Nancy Darling
Oberlin College
The Nova modeling platform is a multi-tiered, multi-system set of design and deployment technologies that supports a unified paradigm of system dynamics, spatial, agent-based and event-driven modeling. Nova simulations are built on a desktop application using a modular design that promotes abstraction. Once captured in script form, the simulation can be deployed as a desktop application, or immediately transformed into a web application that can be run on either the client or the server side. As a server-side application, the simulation can benefit from deployment on a high-performance cluster.
